In 2017 the following Prizes & Opportunities were awarded

YMF Australia Award

$30,000 presented by Youth Music Foundation of Australia Incorporated.

The YMF Australia Award consists of a scholarship a condition of which is that it is to be used predominantly for overseas study and that the funds will be distributed in a series of payments over two years.

The winner must be available to perform at a mutually convenient time, in 2 recitals for the sponsor in Melbourne. The winner is invited to sing at the IFAC Australian Singing Competition’s Finals Concert - on Saturday 15 July 2017 in Sydney.

The winner of the YMF Australia Award also received:

Armstrong-Martin Scholarship - $4,500 presented by the Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust to be used for overseas study.

At the discretion of the judging panel, the following additional prizes were awarded:

Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme
 An opportunity to participate in the Strauss Lieder & Arias course with Angelika Kirchschlager and Malcolm Martineau in the UK (4-9 Sep 2017). If selected the recipient will receive a scholarship to cover the fees for the course, accommodation, lunches on teaching days and a contribution to their flight costs. Each course ends with a public recital.

Glyndebourne Festival Prize
 An opportunity to attend staged rehearsals and audition for the 2017 Glyndebourne Festival. The recipient will need to budget for his/her own travel and living expenses and will be entitled to receive “company” benefits and support while at Glyndebourne.

4MBS Classic FM Award
 A performance in the annual 4MBS Festival of Classics. Only available for a Queensland singer.
